A great pair of Shoes

I do not know the year these shoes arrived to me, or how. They could have been a gift from my Mother, I could have purchased them myself. I have no idea. I do know that I have had these shoes for over 12 years, and yesterday they were thrown away. It is time for some new shoes.

In these shoes I was graceful, funny, sexy, excited, as well as many other significant emotions I could list. Every time I put them on, there was something to look forward to, a dance, a show, or a paid or unpaid gig.

These shoes have danced in the Apparel Mart, many different parts of Georgia, NY, and possibly other states as well. They supported countless hours of dancing Swing, Salsa, Merengue, Lindy Hop, Fox Trot, the Waltz, and just plain dancing. I've been on TV dancing in these shoes. I met my wife in these shoes, and later, I was married in these shoes.

This past week I took them one last time to NY's Swing 46. It wasn't the first time dancing in these shoes at this club, but it was the last. I had them repaired once because I wore out the heels and souls. But as of yesterday, they were retired. I have worn them out beyond repair. I am not a sentimental person with many things, and I am by far, not materialistic in any way, but these shoes supported me in distances I would have never imagined I would go. Thus the record, The tales of the shoes.
