A great pair of Shoes

I do not know the year these shoes arrived to me, or how. They could have been a gift from my Mother, I could have purchased them myself. I have no idea. I do know that I have had these shoes for over 12 years, and yesterday they were thrown away. It is time for some new shoes.

In these shoes I was graceful, funny, sexy, excited, as well as many other significant emotions I could list. Every time I put them on, there was something to look forward to, a dance, a show, or a paid or unpaid gig.

These shoes have danced in the Apparel Mart, many different parts of Georgia, NY, and possibly other states as well. They supported countless hours of dancing Swing, Salsa, Merengue, Lindy Hop, Fox Trot, the Waltz, and just plain dancing. I've been on TV dancing in these shoes. I met my wife in these shoes, and later, I was married in these shoes.

This past week I took them one last time to NY's Swing 46. It wasn't the first time dancing in these shoes at this club, but it was the last. I had them repaired once because I wore out the heels and souls. But as of yesterday, they were retired. I have worn them out beyond repair. I am not a sentimental person with many things, and I am by far, not materialistic in any way, but these shoes supported me in distances I would have never imagined I would go. Thus the record, The tales of the shoes.

20 Great Memory Verses

Quote them to a friend, and that's how you will know if you really have them memorized.

Prov 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

1 Peter 5:6-8 - 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 8Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Matthew 17:20 - He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Is 54:17 - No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.

James 1:2-4 - 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Phil 1:6 – Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

2 Tim. 2:15 - Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Matthew 21:21-22 - 21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. 22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Rom 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Matthew 11:28 - Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Phil. 2:2 - Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Prov 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Rom 8:37-39 – 37 No, In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[m] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - this can be one week of memorization if you need it to be.

John 3:16-17 - 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Matthew 18:15 - 15 "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.

Matthew 18:21-22 - 21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" 22 Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Romans 8:31 - What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Ephesians 6:12 - For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Isaiah 40:31 - Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Today's Lunch

Today's lunch consisted of a Boca Bruschetta Tomato Basil Parmesan burger on a flat bread bun. Coupled with Broccoli slaw and Trader Joe's Champagne Pear Vinaigrette with Strawberries. You could chop up the strawberries and put it in the slaw, it complimented the Vinaigrette so well. - The boca burger was dry as usual, I prefer Morning Star veggie burgers, but I continue to give Boca a try.

October 20th: Spirit Day

In Honor of Tyler Clementi
On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the LGBT youth who have committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes and schools.PURPLE represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. We want to thank Brittany McMillan for creating this event!http://www.easternecho.com/index.php/m/article/2010/10/spirit_day_to_honor_recent_homosexual_suicide_victims
RIP: Tyler Clementi, Seth Walsh, Justin Aaberg, Raymond Chase, Asher Brown, Cody J. Barker, Harrison Chase Brown, Caleb Nolt, Billy Lucas, Jeanine Blanchette, and Chantal Dube. Unknown deaths.
- I forgot to wear purple. I looked around the cube to see what I had to put into use. So here is what I ended up with.
Here is my coworker's purple creation. YAY for Love and support!

Only in the south

Found this at the Starbucks at Lavista Rd in Atlanta. Only in the south would you use the word Yank in reference to an verb vs. a noun.

Foos ball & The Broken Man Trophy

Here at the office we have a foos ball table. I personally think we're pretty good, like, we could probably place somewhere in a real tournament. But without question, we would definitely kick Joey, Chandler, and Monica's butt. Anywho. We have become so good, that it is rare that a team would not score any points. On the rare occasion that it would happen, the opposing team mates would have bragging rights for at least a week.

We have worn out many parts on the table, and when we were replacing a broken man one day someone said, we should make a broken man trophy to hang outside our cubes/offices. Grantbob came up with the plan, and I executed it. So I went to Michael's to get a plaque, stained it, and painted the broken man silver. Next Grantbob gorilla glued the broken man to the plaque. Finally we were able to hand over the trophy to the current trophy holders. It's really a trophy of shame, appropriately titled, The broken man trophy.

I would never mention any names as to who the current trophy holders are. And one is not in the office today, so once they return, I will take another pic of both pieces.

Here is our foos table.

Honda has a Boo Boo

My Honda got a boo-boo, so naturally it needs a band-aid. Maybe this will help.

Tony the Tiger?

I was riding into work this morning and saw a tiger on the road. While I was approaching it, I was like... what is on this person's helmet? Then I found a tail actually attached to the person's tail. Ya never know what you'll find in the ATL.

The Daily Audio Bible

I started listening to the DAB this year. I started a month or so late, so I am literally still catching up. This project is an amazing site put on by this guy named Brian. There is all kinds of information you can get off this site. There are people connecting through this site who are amazing. So if you're interested in hearing the Word of God read at any time of the day, check this site out. They also have worship playing 24-7. I totally encourage you to check it out.

Concert

I went to a concert last night at Eddie's Attic. I totally recommend going to a concert there. Wow! Great Venue!

Jennifer Knapp, Amy Courts, and Derek Webb. Love Them! I cannot wait to worship with them on day. This reminds me... I gotta practice. Wow.

I left encouraged, pumped, motivated. Basically on a music high. It was awesome.

I will eventually get a pic of the three of them on here, even if it was one I took myself from the show last night. Love was unable to go with me, but Lynne, Carla and Anna did. Wow. HOT! It was a much needed event. YAY!

ChickenPotPie Lovin

This past week I missed Church because I was sick. My friend Crys lovingly made me a Chicken Pot Pie to help me feel better. (Carla helped) It was possibly the best Chicken Pot Pie's I've ever eaten. It took me 2 days to eat it. I ate it for every meal until it was gone. Yes, even for breakfast. MMMM, Please Ma'am, may I have another.

I love my friends and I am so thankful for how awesome they are. Thanks Crys for comforting me during my sickness. God Bless you for that!

Artic Blast 2010

Pic taken at approx 7:20AM. I wish I were playing in it, but... aah, the joys of working as an adult. I hit two patches of Black Ice on the way to work which caused me to run 2 stop signs. At the bottom of my street is a nasty hill which always gathers ice. Praise God for safety.

The flowerbed has some beautiful snow, I hope it stays so I can take a pic of that when I get home later today.

Artic Blast 2010 was coined by the news before it was ever snowing according to Carla. So, hence the title. :-)

Also notice the hole in my mailbox. This past Saturday we had some kids hit (literally) the mailboxes of Shamrock Forrest. Good times. Aah the joys of home ownership. Good times.

Love's first Sushi Roll

Love is amazing. She doesn't eat sushi. She doesn't like the smell of seaweed. And yet, she is an extremely talented food artist. This is her first attempt. - I tried finding a pic of my first attempt, but it must be still on the camera. I can definitely say that my first attempt did not look like sushi. - Anyway, I am amidst eating it, and it is very good and tasty. Wow, I can't wait to taste her second attempt, and her third, and fourth, and...

Victory Cookies

At my nephew's graduation I tasted these Victory Cookies. WOW! There were people lined up during the party just to get these cookies.
They are a totally different kind of cookie, better than any I had tasted before. There must be a secret in these cookies. They definitely do not have the normal chocolate chips in there. It has something that makes them stand out and taste better than all the rest. I give this a 2 thumbs up. Try them, you'll love them.

Car Bumper

Yesterday afternoon on the way home from Church, my bumper decided that it was tired of hanging on. And then the plastic on my light decided to stop hanging on too. I guess it's about that time to go get it fixed. I was waiting on the money from the person who wrecked it, but oh well. I must say though, I was CRACKING up when it came off. It was a good laugh. Fortunately the people around me were very kind and slowed down to let me over.

Sushi, the best food EVER

I could eat Sushi 3 times a week and never complain. Well, unless it was bad sushi. I also enjoy hand rolls and sashimi.

The arrows indicate items I like. The X's indicate things I hate. The ones not marked are fish I have not tried, or I just couldn't read the name of it.

What kinds of Sushi do you like? - Thanks to this site for the pic.

It's Summer

This weekend I attended a party and played on this. It was so much fun, and I am so sore. But I would do it all over again if I had an opportunity. Good Times!

Car Wreck

Notice the seperation of the bumper from the trunk and also the broken tail light.
