Prop 8

There are many things going on right now in History. We have elected our first African-American President. Same-sex marriage is becoming legal, then illegal, over and over again.

There are many things happening online regarding the same-sex marriage fight.

Here is one that I have signed.
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/protect-marriage-protect-children-prohibit-divorce
I also added the below in the comment section.
"Sanctity, as defined by Dictionary.com. "The state of being holy or sacred, that is, set apart for the worship or service of gods. It could also mean being set apart to pursue (or to already have achieved) a sacred state or goal, such as Nirvana." In this case, we can easily substitute Nirvana with Marriage. Sanctity and Holiness of marriage is exactly what Same-sex couples are asking for, the divine commitment accepted by law. If the purpose of Prop 8 is to keep sanctity and holiness in marriage, then Divorce should be abolished."

Gay Marriage Ban Lifted

Love Lifted Me!

Gay Marriage, aah, what beautiful words.

History is being made people. Gay Marriage Bans should be and will continue to be Lifted in Jesus Name!

"Connecticut joins Massachusetts and California as the only states that allow same-sex couples to marry. Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire and New Jersey have civil unions, while Maine, Washington, Oregon and Hawaii have domestic partnership laws that allow same-sex couples to receive some of the same benefits granted to those in civil unions."

They are paving the way for our Country. God Bless America!

Radio Take Two

Last week didn't work out for the radio because the main PC's mother board crashed. So we were in the car headed to the studio and got a phone call to wait till next week. So here we are, take two.

It was good though, I was able to meet the DJ and the Sound Engineer. They are quite nice and it relieved some nerves.

Radio

I'm going to be on the Radio this week. My good friend and sister Ghetto Gospel hosts a Gospel Show on ttp://www.collabomuzik247radio.com/v1/.

The Call in # 404-567-5831 if you want to call and give a shout out to me and Ghetto Gospel.

It's pretty crazy, I'm suppose to be playing my clarinet and there are some pads on the clarinet that need replacing, so every time I play in the lower register, it plays high notes. So now I have to go rent a clarinet just for this radio spotlight. Hopefully the key placement will be the same, these days it has changed from my clarinet.
History about me: I have played the clarinet for 21 years now. My clarinet is very special to me. It's a wood clarinet and I received it 15 years ago. I received the clarinet for Christmas and my parents purchased it from a girl who had it for 10 years. She also purchased the clarinet used. So I really have no idea how old this clarinet is or how much it is worth. To me though, it's priceless.

I have had the opportunity to play the clarinet with multiple bands, groups and I've even played
with the best Jazz Vibraphonist in the world, Lionel Jones in Spivey Hall at Clayton College and State University. And this year I had the honor of playing behind two of Ghetto Gospel's Spoken Word Pieces.
But the gratest pleasure of all is that I have played in worship for the Greatest Audience of One, God.

Cow Appreciation Day

July 11th was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A.

The Mrs. and I gathered up a herd and took our calves down to Chick-fil-A.
It was a great time. The whole night we were making jokes...
- If someone was upset we said, what's your beef? or, Don't have a cow!
- If someone was telling a story, we said, yes, I herd.
We were full of it that night. It was a good time.

Since we were having such a good time, we decided to migrate to two Chick-fil-A's.
My two prescious nephews were working that day and so we had a family picture made.

History Lesson on the Squeak: Chick-fil-a has always been part of my life. When I was a youngsteer I would ride my bike to go eat there. It was always a great time to walk into the little door. When I was in high school and even a little in college I worked at Chick-fil-A for a total of 3.5 years.

Fudge Bar

I often wonder why people do the things they do.
Earlier this week I noticed that a fudge bar may have fallen out of the box. I just observed, didn't do anything about it.
Today Bear and I went to get a Fudge bar. I said, it's open. Debating in my mind, that's not good. He said, awe, it's ok. He also said, it would be funny if someone licked it and put it back. At that moment I pulled the bar out of the package and found it with a big bite out of it.
I'm tellin ya, you can't make this stuff up. For riz.
Why? Why would someone take a bite and put it back and leave it for days? Now, if there was a bite taken from it and it then was left on the counter, I would know who to go to. But this?
I'm clueless. Needless to say, Bear took this pic and I threw it away. So you, whoever is looking for that last bite of fudge bar. Get a new one.

Today I played...

The Theremin. GrantBob brought it in. It's something he just happens to have. It's pretty amazing. Some of the things this man has is pretty amazing. Who would have thunk, he has a Theremin.

Being a musician, I really enjoyed it. It was much different than the usual wind and string instruments I play. I bet though if I had it for 30 minutes I could play songs and really make some music with it.

Well, I had to look back at the archives to see what the highest score was thus far. I thought we beat it today but we were very close.

Today Vasu and I vs. Dave and Rookie. Vasu and I won 19-17. Close race the whole time, it was a great game.

Pocket Contents

Things get lost in my pockets. At least until they pokeher (silent H).

Today I found 3 army men and 2 screws, all in the same pocket.

They are so little I had to show you an example of how they could remain in my pocket for a while. The black thing is the edge of my keyboard wrist rest. (Say that 3 times fast, keyboard wrist rest, keyboard wrist rest, keyboard wrist rest.) Next to that is a Nerf Target . Then there is my iPod Shuffle and a highlighter. So as you can see, the objects are very small, but they have great poking power. - Ouch!

Spring 2008 - YAY!

For years I have been wanting to landscape my front little area. The size is 22' x 13'. It is the perfect place to landscape and let me just tell you, forever my home has not had curb appeal until now.

The last pic I have of my previous landscaping is this...

Now I love to leave the house and go home because now my new landscaping meets me. It was a labor of Love. My dear friend Lynne came over with all her tools and helped me. Talk about Hookin a Sistah up! Without her, the area would have remained the same for another eight years or more.

This is what it looks like before I added solar lights and I still haven't figured out what to put on each side of the walkway in front of the door. We (she) built the retaining wall and dug out more roots than I would have imagined. It was tough, but worth it. Also if you notice to the left of the walkway that area is cleaned out as well. I will put something on each side of the walkway there for balance.

The Choice Is Yours

We have all made this decision at one point in our lives. To Cancel or Apply Jesus to your life. It is the most important decision you will ever make in your entire life.

At some point in our lives, most of us have even said, Ok Jesus or Help Me Jesus. But most people Cancel Him out. I hope you choose to Apply Jesus to your life. If you haven't and you want to know Him, I would love to tell you how.

Happy Easter

Easter is one of my favorite holidays.
It is when I remember in great detail that Jesus died on the cross and rose again. This God I serve is awesome and I love to tell the story. Ooh, that makes me think of a song. (Anyway lol)

Jesus humbled himself, became man, became poor. He ran a perfect race, one that I could never run myself. Therefore, he was unjustly hung on a cross to pay for my sin. Then three days later he rose from the dead. The tomb could not keep him in the grave. He then visited over 500 recorded witnesses. At this point he showed doubting Thomas that there was not a reason to doubt. He showed that death has no hold on Him. Jesus is awesome!

So, now to discuss the Peep in my coffee. My coffee was not as sweet as I wanted this morning, so I improvised.

I know it is not Easter yet, but the Easter Bunny visited my office this morning. I guess he's so busy during Easter Eve, that he delivers to offices early. This morning when I arrived, I found a basket full of goodies. What a treat! Thanks Easter Bunny!
Now you may be wondering what those other things are in my cube.
- The Golf Ball, yes, it has a story. That same Easter Bunny said he would bring me a golf ball to paint pink for a skit. I guess since it was not Easter Season he was not use to delivering things on time. So after the skit I received a golf ball.
- The rubber bands are a collection so that I am prepared with ammo when my Manager decides to "let me have it". The rubber bands also hold the golf ball in place.
- The Target was part of the box my nerf gun was packaged with, which my Manager gave me two Christmas' ago.

Cara Cara Baby

Cara Cara, it's my new favorite Orange. My dawg Sooper Poogey turned me onto this and I am so grateful for it.

It's a burst of juice in my mouth. Apparently these are a mix between pink grapefruit and oranges. They're seedless, and seasonal. Get them while you can. I like it a lot!

I killed my pet

Something you may not know about me is... My Father played the Harmonica, My Grandfather played the Harmonica, and I play the harmonica.

Sunday at Church I went to play my C Harp on one of my favorite songs, Friend of God by Phillips, Craig, and Dean. And my harmonica only could play a few notes per octave. I then realized, I killed my pet!
I think I killed it when I was learning how to bend notes which pressures the reed, and I did it a lot trying to learn. So, I broke it.

Fortunately I have another harmonica of that same key, but it's not the appropriate size for my case and one day I will replace it. But in the interim, I have 3 days to learn how to use it so that Friday I will not be without. It's a different size and therefore has different spacing between the notes, but it will not be as hard as learning to go from a Clarinet to a Bass Clarinet. Phew!

Even though you do not need evidence...

You Are 70% Boyish and 30% Girlish

You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch.
Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes.
You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them.
You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be.

Compression Ftting

I really enjoy being a handyman. I learn so many things when I take on new projects. My house was built in the 60's and it is very obvious when I go to do a project.

This past week's project is almost coming to a close. What seemed like an easy project turned into a week long escapade which has consisted of five trips to Home Depot, one to the local Plumber Xpress store in Avondale Estates, and many trips under the sink. What I and the people at Home Depot did not know is that the connection my sink requires is a Multicor Compression fitting Flexible Faucet pipe rather than the normal 3/4" or 1/2" flexible faucet pipe. Prior to this adventure, the sink had bent copper pipes leading to the faucet. This obviously would not work for the new faucet and when working with pipes, after almost 50 years, it is time to upgrade the pipes.

The good thing is that I learned more about plumbing and was reminded to take the part you are trying to replace with you the 1st time, not the second. It helps save you at least two trips.

The Great Debaters

WOW! The Great Debaters is a Must See Movie! I saw many movies over my Holiday at the Drive In Theater. It was wonderful.

Love and I watched the following...
Alvin and the Chipmunks - Cool
National Treasure: Book of Secrets - Wow
Enchanted - Awe
The Perfect Holiday - eh
This Christmas - Awe
The Great Debaters - In my opinion, to sum up it's about a radical who stood to make changes during his era of change. In the midst: it's about love, parenting, family, and what can bring people together.

So much stood out to me during this movie. I could be here all day writing, but I will spare you. So here are a few things that made an impact on me.
- I could not imagine an adult calling another adult a childish term to degrade the other person.
- I can not imagine driving down the street seeing someone hung, hurt, or burnt on a cross, nor in a field, or anywhere, due to a hate crime. You see, hate crimes are a very present occurrence in this day and era of my people, the LGBT community. Of course unless you track the topic, you do not hear about it very often, and it is fortunately not the same magnitude nor can be explicitly compared to what is represented in this movie, but there are many parallels. It was divine that I was not born in the era of this documentary. I fully believe that I too would have been a radical as Denzel portrayed and God only knows where I would have ended up.

I wish I could remember all the profound statements made throughout this movie, but here is what I am going to share.
- One of the students said something degrading about himself. Denzel quickly said, Son, if you were in a fist fight would you hit yourself? The student quickly said No. Denzel said, then why would you put yourself down with your words, it's the same thing.

I totally recommend this movie to all adults.
